Kindermusik OurTime Feedle-dee-dee Celebration

Dear Our Time Families:

The celebration remarks the end of our Feedle-dee-dee semester. We'll meet again for the new curriculum next week. See you!

Kindermusik’s Foundations of Learning - some of the benefits your child received from today’s activities are:

Laughter: “Laughter increases white blood cell activity and changes the chemical balance of the blood cell activity and changes the chemical balance of the blood. This is believed to boost the body’s production of chemicals needed for alertness and memory. Laughter reduces stress, and low stress enhances the brain’s receptivity to learning. According to researchers, laughing (having fun) also boosts the body’s immune system for three days – the day of the fun and the next two.”

Hearing Music Internally: Children need opportunities to hear music sung, and they need invitations to hear music internally, with no external sound source. Being able to hear music “in your head” like this is an important part of musical literacy, just as learning to think sentences and thoughts without speaking is an important feat in language development. Omitting parts of familiar songs is one way to help children begin to “fill in the blanks” and hear music internally.

Kindermusik OurTime Feedle-dee-dee Week 15

Dear Our Time Parent:

We have come to the end of a wonderful chapter in our Kindermusik experience together. I remember your children so well on that first day of class–the anticipation, the questions, the tentative smiles.... Each and every one of the children has grown so much during these fifteen weeks. It is truly my pleasure to work with them. I hope to have the opportunity to continue to watch them grow and grow and grow…! Lets have a big celebration next week together!
